My Week - Starting 1st August: This is my final diary entry on to the Lantern website, yes I’m hanging up my writing hat, but certainly won’t be taking off my dancing shoes or my, er, trying to sort out my acting, um, trousers? This last month has been a corker.
My Week - Starting 7th July: After spending most of June in the relative calm of South Africa it was a real shock to come back and face the madness of London. The place seemed so busy and loud, far more so than I remembered leaving it at the end of May!
My Week - Starting 1st May: This week my glamorous friend Sue threw her second annual Fabaret. It is essentially a cabaret but more fabulous. The evening was made up of acts trying to outdo the previous one in bizarreness, hilarity and sometimes talent.
My Week - Starting 1st April: This month saw some unseasonably sunny weather so most of my time has been spent in my back garden entertaining friends. I did manage to venture further out than my lawn and made it into town on several occasions.
My Week - Starting 1st March: It was my 30th birthday this week and my husband Carl treated me to a fabulous day of London’s finest entertainment, it began in the morning with a trip to the Charles Worthington hair salon on Percy St W1.
My Week - Starting 1st December: It was a relatively quiet new year for Carl and me, a stomach bug put an end to any of the parties we’d had lined up. I sensed though that there was something in the air and 2003 wouldn’t let me rest on my laurels. The partying started in earnest with friends of ours celebrating their engagement at a pub...
My Week - Starting 1st December: This week I was working as a receptionist on Farringdon Road. I still had lots of Christmas shopping to do and a colleague suggested that I visit Leather Lane Market during my lunch hour. Leather Lane is a typical London market selling clothes and accessories at bargain prices mainly to locals and people...
My Week - Starting 1st November: After spending a hard day grafting as a receptionist (it’s more difficult than it looks) I strolled along to a casting in Brewer St. The audition was for a comedy show and was being held in a pub called the ‘Glasshouse Stores’ – very kind of them. I got to Soho early and popped into ‘Fresh & Wild’, 71 Brewer...
My Week - Starting 27th September: Yet another manic week of trying to get everything done in an impossibly short space of time. When you are an aspiring (read desperate) actress you have to say yes to anything that your agent throws at you. I’m afraid it’s a long way off to being able to pick and choose which jobs I go for and, according...
My Week - Starting 30th August: Just when you think it’s safe to go out in your sandals, the heavens open. We were having a very pleasant picnic in Regents Park to celebrate my friend Stephen’s birthday but, after having been courted by the sunshine throughout the week, were let down by the weather. Still, we were a hardy bunch and finished...
